CPS 22nd AGM 6th December 2014 at 11 a.m. Hastingleigh
This is to invite you to our 22nd AGM, which is rapidly approaching. Please make a note of
the date and come and enjoy a day of sharing work, catching up with members, using the
opportunity to purchase items, eating well and participating in the 22nd AGM. You will be
able to renew your membership and book workshops for 2015.
As for last year, the full details and documentation can be found on the CPS website:
www.cinqueportsscribes.org.uk. If you are on email you will not be sent the hard copy
The documents required for the AGM are as follows:
- 2014 agenda (22nd AGM )
- Minutes of the 21st AGM held on 7th December 2013
- 2015 Booking Form (updated 12/1/15)
- 2015 Membership Form (updated 12/1/15)
- 2015 Workshop Details
- 2015 Committee and Officer Nominations
All existing committee members are willing to continue/be re-elected where appropriate
for 2015 – except Ann as Treasurer. Tony also will be stepping down as workshop secretary,
but will continue with tutor bookings (as well as the website manager) and Mari will step
down as a committee member in order to divert her energies into publishing the newsletter.
You may wish to volunteer to be on the committee at the AGM itself or nominate someone
as a committee member who may not be able to attend, in which case you will need to bring
a completed ‘Nomination for committee’ form (please check that the person you are
nominating wishes to stand!). If you are interested in joining the committee, please feel
free to contact any member of the committee to discuss the role with you.
There will be an exhibition table for members to bring and display work and examples of
the CPS Envelope Exchange 2014 work compiled by Peter Jordan to see (well worth
spending some time on). Please bring a label for your work on display (name and title is all
that is required).
A few items CPS stock will be for sale together with the remaining 20th Anniversary mugs.
Ex-CPS library books and magazines will be for sale and a Bring and Buy table for members
to sell calligraphic books, art materials and anything else – maybe home made goods. If you
bring an item to sell please put a ticket with the item together with your name and the
price required in order to make this a simple process.
Please note there will not be a Secret Santa this year but after its success last year we shall
be running the CPS Christmas card competition again and making this a feature of the AGM
instead, when we can vote for our favourite design. We look forward to receiving your entries.
There will be the two libraries (CPS and Augusto’s) and remember; if you have books to
return please bring them with you.
The committee will provide mulled wine, soft drinks and puddings so would you please
bring savoury finger food (nothing that requires heating up or cooking due to too little
space and time). Tea and coffee will be available during the day.
We would value your help in helping to clear the hall at the end of the meeting, which
ends at 3 p.m. this year.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 6th December. If you are unable to download
any of the forms or papers listed above please contact me and I’ll email them to you as
separate items (firstname.lastname@example.org).
With best wishes Janet Adkin (CPS Secretary)
