The Cinque Ports Scribes
were very proud to have hosted the
Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society
2005 Regional Day
at the Saga Pavilion, Folkestone, Kent
on Saturday 19
th November 2005

This was a very successful day and we were pleased that many calligraphers
from all over the country joined us for the celebrations.

Programme for 19th Nov 2005

MORNING - After a welcome from the Cinque Ports Scribes, Ewan Clayton and Ann Hechle from
The Irene Wellington Trust gave an extremely entertaining, illustrated talk on Irene's life and work, and shared many personal anecdotes and memories of Irene. This gave us a real insight into her methods and approach to her work. This was augmented by a separate display of original work in the Trust's possession which was on view throughout the day.

AFTERNOON - Annette Tomlin gave an equally entertaining, illustrated talk on the Dover Bible, based on her post-graduate studies.
